Reserve Police Officer
The City of Globe Police Department is seeking volunteers to help revolutionize our Department. Our police officers and civilian employees do an outstanding job, however, there are many important functions they often do not have time for. When budgets are tight, as they often are, it is difficult to afford enough staff to accomplish just the basic functions required of a police department. I want our Police Department to be innovative and a model for other police agencies in Arizona. I believe having dedicated volunteers is essential in accomplishing those goals. Volunteering can be rewarding not only for the community, but for the volunteer as well. Volunteers will perform essential police functions, will help reduce crime, and will develop valued relationships with police officers, civilian employees, other volunteers, and the community.
Volunteers can assist in many areas, which include, but are not limited to:
- Civilians On Patrol (COP)
- Victim Advocacy Program (VAPS)
- Crime Scene Support
- Traffic Control
- Grant Research and Writing
- Property and Evidence Control
- Statistical Analysis
- Equipment Inventory and Control
- Data Entry - Police Reports/Tickets
- Community Police Programs
- Information Technology
- Front Counter - Customer Service
- Block Watch Liaison
